Sabian has been voted "Most Innovative Cymbal Company" more than once by the readers of Modern Drummer magazine. Aside from producing superb professional grade cymbals with "classic," "traditional," and "contemporary" sound characteristics, they also produce truly excellent sounding yet affordable entry-level cymbals.

The B8X series are Sabian's lowest-priced cymbals produced from B8 bronze. The bronze sheets are stamped into shape by machines. They are made using fully-automated hammering and lathing techniques in order to keep their price low. B8X cymbals are not buffed and have a natural lathed appearance.

B8X's have what Sabian refers to as "the bright, focused, and penetrating sounds of more expensive cymbals." Indeed, they have very good sound quality considering their low cost.
