This book comes from the Muse-Eek Publishing Company in New York and is written by accomplished jazz guitarist Bruce Arnold. Music Theory Workbook is an excellent learning tool for both the beginner who has no knowledge of music theory, and the intermediate student looking to improve their understanding. An easy music theory section is included especially for beginners, which sets forth the basics of music theory, thus laying the foundation for the exercises. From the most simple construction of basic intervals to the most advanced chord structure, all information is consistently applied to the guitar fingerboard. All the answers are included in the book, enabling the student to check his or her own work. After purchase of their books, Muse-Eek Publishing seeks to keep the reader/student engaged and interactive with the author. They host two on-line resources in conjunction with Music Theory Workbook (at www.museeek.com). A "Frequently Asked Questions" page (FAQ) is available where students can ask the author questions that may arise as they work. There is also a free "member's section" where book owners can download other files specific to this book and many other help files to further their music education. This book is a required text for beginning students at New York and Princeton Universities and is recommended for beginning to intermediate guitar students ages 13 and up.
