| Level: Beginner to Advanced |

Ever
wanted to recreate some of rock's greatest guitarist's
sounds but you didn't really know where to begin? If you
were not sure of what settings were used in distortion,
delay, reverb, etc., then this book is for you! The
purpose of 100 Superstar Guitar Sounds is to
investigate the sounds of various players and show you
how to simulate those sounds using effects that are much
more available to the average musician. This
book/CD is fantastic! It lists various players and gives
you at least one diagram showing how you can achieve
their "sound" using just a couple of effects
pedals. You'll also learn what the different pedals do
such as noise gates, compressors, distortions,
equalizers etc., and learn the proper order of placement
of these effects. This will help you in creating your
own guitar sound. In addition, each example gives you a brief
history on the guitarist, explains what guitar, amp, and
effects are used. The CD follows the book with audio
samples of each example so you can hear it as well. This
book was written by Eric Mangum who headed the Technical
Service Department at DOD/DigiTech Electronics. Featured
are great guitarists such as Steve Vai, Jeff Beck,
Slash, Joe Satriani, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, The Edge, James Hetfield,
Foo Fighters, Jimi Hendrix, Korn, None Inch Nails, Led Zeppelin,
Pantera, Stevie Ray Vaughan
and more!
